Practically Jewish

  • About

  • How does a kitchen become a "kosher kitchen"?

Why do people touch or kiss a mezuzah when entering or leaving a doorway?

If I don’t have enough candles for my Chanukah menorah, can I still fulfill the mitzvah?

What is a mikvah, and who uses it, and when?

Living a Jewish life can sometimes feel complicated. There are so many mitzvot, customs, rules, and traditions, and sometimes, it can feel like we have more questions than answers.

    Enter: Practically Jewish

Practically Jewish is a weekly class exploring the practical side of Jewish life. Each week, we’ll dive into Jewish ideas, mitzvot, and traditions that you may have heard about, but never fully understood, or simply wondered about and never got around to asking.

We’ll get to the "how," the "why," and the "what does this actually mean?" behind the things we do as Jews, while uncovering the deeper beauty, meaning, and wisdom behind Jewish practice.

No question is off the table. Everyone is welcome.

The class will be taught by Rabbi Mendy Grossbaum and will meet every Thursday at 7:00 PM at Chabad: 2300 Barton Lane, Montrose CA 91020.  Fresh, homemade refreshments to enjoy along the way.

First Class: Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 PM
