The Menorah Making Workshop at ACE Hardware is BACK!

Get ready to get your hands dirty, putting them to work: building, designing, and painting your very own menorah!

With some brand new Menorah designs for you to choose from, this event is a must for all children, young and old, to have fun building their very own menorahs, all while learning about the holiday of Chanukah!

This event is completely free of charge.
Light Chanukah refreshments will be served.

The Menorah Making Workshop will be taking place at ACE Hardware in La Crescenta:
3100 Foothill Blvd, La Crescenta-Montrose, CA 91214, on December 7th at 2PM.

In addition to the weekly study of Jewish prayer, and Hebrew reading and writing, Chabad Hebrew School will be studying fundamentals in Judaism, Jewish practice, and about the Jewish Holidays!

Chabad Hebrew School believes these lessons give children the foundations needed for leading a Jewish life.

Intro to Chabad Chassidic Philosophy—a new Torah class with Mushka

We will be delving into the Tanya, the foundational text of Chabad Chassidic philosophy. The Tanya, also known as Sefer Shel Beinonim—The Book of the Everyman, is a profound work that combines Kabbalistic wisdom with practical guidance for daily life. It offers advice on how to cultivate self-discipline, develop emotional resilience, and find peace in knowing that internal struggle is a meaningful part of our spiritual journey.

Chabad of the Crescenta Valley is excited to invite you and your family to the 5th annual Chanukah Festival 2025 - the largest Jewish event in the Crescenta Valley!

This year's entertainment will include live Klezmer Jewish music, a petting zoo, an amazing fire show, a soccer inflatable, Chanukah crafts, games, and much more! There will also be a Gelt Drop from atop one of Los Angeles' finest fire trucks!

Enjoy some delicious jelly donuts, steaming hot latkas, and other Chanukah goodies, while joining hundreds of fellow Jews in kindling the menorah, singing Chanukah melodies, and celebrating our Jewish heritage.

The Chevra is getting back together again!

This month we are kicking it back and joining together for a men’s event celebrating the holiday of Chanukah, as well as Rabbi Mendy’s birthday!

You can expect the usual Chevra staples: whiskey, meat, cigars, and more, in addition to the Chanukah delicacies like delicious home made latkas, and some tasty donuts!

Instead of blowing out the candles, Rabbi Mendy will be lighting the candles of the Chanukiah, followed by the melodious traditional Chanukah songs.

One of the central themes of Chanukah is Pirsumei Nisa - the mitzvah of publicizing the miracles of the holiday. We fulfill this by lighting the Menorah in a place where its glow can be seen by all, sharing the story of the small jug of oil that miraculously burned for eight days, and of the few who triumphed over the mighty.

But Pirsumei Nisa goes beyond recalling ancient miracles. It also celebrates the ongoing miracle of the Jewish people. Throughout history, many have tried to silence our light and erase our faith - yet we continue to shine. Each Chanukah, as we light the Menorah for all to see, we declare proudly and joyfully: the Jewish people live on, and our flame will never be extinguished.
